Baltimore County is a vibrant, diverse community that truly offers something for everyone. Explore the 214 miles of waterfront with endless recreational opportunities, four wineries, steeplechase races, arts and cultural opportunities, historic sites and museums—you will never run out of things to do in Baltimore County.

#1 Guinness Open Gate Brewery

Some of the best brews in Baltimore County can be found at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery. It’s open Thursday through Sunday with limited capacity in accordance with COVID regulations.

If you visit in person, you can enjoy the beer garden, a variety of food trucks, and great pub snacks in the taproom.

To get the Guinness Experience from a safer distance, you can sign up for virtual tours and learn about the more than 260 years of Guinness history. You can even enjoy a virtual guided tasting. Curbside pickup is also available.

Visitor Reviews

“Really COVID friendly! I wasn’t sure how crowded it would be as the weather starts getting nicer, but the tables were huge and very separated from other tables. Our hostess Autumn was so friendly and consistent with checking in on us. The spicy crab dip was so good and more than enough to split between two people, and the new (I think) Clover Honey Ale was perfectly light for a spring day.”

“I dined here tonight for the first time since covid, and it was still just as enjoyable. Keeping a warm and inviting environment during a global pandemic is challenging to say the least. Above all, your staff is absolutely outstanding. 10/10”

– Meaghan Clark

“This place is huge. And so good. Food nice. Beers top class. Outdoor seating – fantastic. Their gift shop is pretty good. I like the hoodies.”

#2 Baltimore County Arts Guild

So much is happening at the Arts Guild in Baltimore County in Catonsville! Their goal is to create a community of artists. Whether you consider yourself an experienced artist or a newbie, the guild will welcome you with open arms. They provide classes, events, and even a festival to enjoy.

The 2021 Arts & Drafts Festival will feature more than 60 artists (including local and emerging artists), a variety of food vendors, and live music!

#3 Oregon Ridge Nature Center

The Oregon Ridge Nature Center is presented and maintained by the Parks and Recreation department in Baltimore County. At the Nature Center, you can learn about the iron mining history of the property and the small industrial village it helped support.

The park exhibits also teach you about the local plants and animals you may find while exploring. Children love visiting the sugar shack to learn about the process of making maple syrup. What else might you see on your visit?
